Breakfast was served buffet style at 10am sharp on Saturday morning. Scrambled eggs, fried eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits with gravy, grits, fruit, coffee, chocolate milk, and orange juice obscured all the available kitchen counter space. You couldn't find an ounce of food that wasn't homemade. An equally impressive and outsized dinner-spread was served seven hours later. Both meals were prepared by JT's sharp-witted and vibrant Nana. We're accustomed to procuring our pre-show nutritional needs from Wendy's or the like, so the day of homemade feasting offered a much-desired reprieve from our typical pre-performance ritual of fries, coke, burger and/or wilted salad.
Why this town of 3,500 didn't appear on our inaptly titled "Road Atlas" when that kind of food is prepared within the township limits is beyond my understanding. It might be that the brutal ascent up the winding and treacherous Tacoma Mountain Rd (which Wise residents, even the elderly, can do with one-eye closed) discourages the typical passerby from leaving the more predictable curves of 58 west.

The beginning and end of spring
It's been a busy spring for us, starting with a whirlwind of shows in February and ending with another whirlwind this April and May. With one of us getting hitched at the end of May and another journeying to Africa, we'll be taking a short-lived break for June and July. But rest assured, we'll be back for more rock in the late summer and early fall. So, be sure to catch us in Virginia or NYC before the hiatus!
On another note, we just got handed a copy of our recordings on Harrisonburg's WXJM Live performance. We'll be putting those up on our website in the near future. Thanks to everyone for the continued support!
